~Faith Doesn’t Feel~

30.October.2025

Obedience matters. Every choice we make carries weight, shaping the life we live and the legacy we leave. Today we’ll see how faith and trust in God made a difference in the life of someone who chose to follow Him fully.

There is something relatable about Gideon. When we first meet him, he is hiding in a winepress, threshing wheat in secret to avoid the enemy. He is not bold, not confident, not the picture of a warrior. Yet that is exactly how God saw him. “And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!”” (Judges‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬).

Gideon didn’t feel like a mighty anything. He questioned, he doubted, and he asked for signs. But the beauty of Gideon’s story is that God was patient. He met Gideon where he was, not where he thought he should be. Every test, every fleece, every fearful step became part of his faith being increased.

When it came time for battle, God reduced Gideon’s army from thirty-two thousand men to just three hundred “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you,” God said (Judges 7:7). From a human point of view, that made no sense. However, this was God’s way of showing that victory never depends on numbers or strength, only trusting Him.

I imagine Gideon standing in the darkness with his small band of men, torches hidden inside jars, waiting for the signal. There must have been a mix of fear and faith in that moment. Yet when they broke their jars and shouted, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!” the enemy fled in confusion. God had done the impossible again.

Gideon’s story reminds us that God specializes in using what seems small to accomplish what is great. He calls out who we are becoming long before we see it. What matters most is not how strong we feel, but whether we believe Him enough to take the next step.

Faithful obedience leaves a lasting legacy. The choices we make today echo into tomorrow, shaping who we are and how God’s story is told through us.

Tomorrow, we’ll start in the New Testament and meet Mary, a young woman whose simple yes to God changed the whole world and reminds us that faith always happens in surrender.

If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
