~Carrying the Legacy Forward~

18.September.2025

This week has been heavy. The news of Charlie Kirk’s brutal killing steps out of the headlines and into the rawness of our shared humanity. A man with a voice, a family, dreams. All that gone so suddenly.

In moments like this, faith can feel fragile. We ask: Where was God? Why such injustice? How do we reconcile the promise of abundant life with the violence we see?

Here are truths I want to cling to—and maybe they’ll help you too:

  1. God sees. He is not distant. He catches every tear. He knows every hurt.
  2. The lie that “God sent this” must be exposed. Jesus told us in John 10:10 that the thief comes only to steal, to kill, and to destroy. Evil actions are not authored by God but by the enemy who opposes Him.
  3. Justice matters. We pray for justice, truth to come to light, for the guilty to be held accountable, and for communities to find healing. (Luke 8:17 NKJV)
  4. Hope remains. Even amid evil, we walk from victory. The cross has spoken. We believe in resurrection power, something new can be born.
  5. Compassion over division. When tragedy strikes, sometimes we see people responding with anger or pointing fingers first. But God invites us to reach out, to hold people gently, even when they don’t look like us or believe like us.

But as we consider this event, we must also ask: What now? How will we respond?

Charlie’s voice was silenced on earth, but his convictions, his courage, and his influence don’t have to be. The enemy would love for fear to spread, for silence to fall, for resignation to take root. But honoring a life like his means we don’t retreat… we rise.

We rise by speaking truth boldly, even when it’s unpopular.

We rise by defending freedom, faith, and family with conviction and love.

We rise by living with integrity, refusing to compromise even when it costs us something.

We rise by investing in the next generation, because legacies are built when we hand off what we’ve carried.

If his life mattered, and it did, then what he fought for matters enough for us to pick up the mantle. The enemy took his body, but it cannot uproot the seeds he planted. It cannot cancel the Kingdom work that God will still bring forth through the lives he influenced.

What truth do you need most today to hold on to, God’s presence, His justice, or His love?

What part of his legacy are you called to carry forward, in your family, your community, or your nation?

God, the world feels heavy today. My heart aches. I don’t always understand, but I pray for Your comfort, for Charlie’s family, for those who saw it happen. Help me live out the truths I believe, even when my heart is hurting. Bring justice. Bring peace. Show Your face in the middle of the hurt.

Lord, give me courage to live boldly for what matters most. Let my response to this tragedy be more than loss; let it be action. Show me how to carry forward the legacy of faith, freedom, and truth so that the enemy does not have the final word.
