“He makes me lie down in green pastures…” ~Psalm 23:2a~
This phrase might sound forceful at first glance—like we’re being made to stop against…our will. This isn’t about coercion; it’s our Shepherd gently guiding, skillfully tending, leading with trust and care.
“Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, He said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.’”
~Mark 6:31~
Still Waters is about choosing to trust the voice that leads us away from chaos and toward rest.
God doesn’t wrestle us into peace. He calls us to it. And when we partner with Him—when we allow Holy Spirit to whisper above the noise—we find ourselves saying yes to stillness we didn’t know we needed.
That doesn’t mean it’s always easy to be calm, sometimes rest requires courage.
It means letting go of what we’re trying to prove, pausing the endless “doing,” and choosing instead to receive. Not to quit the journey—but to walk it refreshed.
When the Shepherd leads us to lie down, He’s not robbing us of momentum. He’s restoring strength. He’s not withholding progress. He’s protecting purpose.
“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” ~Isaiah 30:15~
Stillness is never wasted in His presence.
Rest is not the absence of responsibility; it’s the presence of peace in the middle of it.

If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, or if you’ve walked away, trying to do life your own way it’s not too late. He’s calling you back. He’s been waiting.
Return to Him today. Surrender your plans, your pain, and your past. He’s ready to restore, renew, and realign you with your divine purpose.
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
