One of the statements I made in yesterday’s post was this:
“So if you feel like you’ve been on the wheel or in the fire, take heart. You’re not being abandoned—you’re being transformed.”
Today, I want to share a decision I made about 20 years ago that forever changed my life.
As you know, God is sovereign, but He is not a puppet master. He’s given us the dignity of free will and the responsibility of choice. In 2001, I found myself devastated by circumstances that left me heartbroken and deeply disillusioned, not just with life, but with God Himself. I still believed in Him, I couldn’t deny His existence, but I came to believe He wasn’t for me. In my hurt and ignorance, I told God:
“I believe You are real, but I no longer believe You love me. You love everyone else, but there is no way that You love me.”
And with that heartbreaking and foolish statement, I walked away from God. I chose my own path. I made decisions apart from His voice and His Word. And because He is a gentleman, full of grace and restraint, He allowed me to.
Looking back, I see it so clearly now. That wasn’t strength in me—it was pride. It wasn’t protection—it was rebellion. I thank God for His mercy, because He never stopped loving me. Though I cannot undo the choices I made or the opportunities I missed to impact others—including those I love most—I have repented and returned to the One who never stopped loving me.
I cannot change the past—but I can choose the present. And I choose to live it fully surrendered to Jesus.
God doesn’t give us “do-overs” but He does give us redemption. He brings healing to the places we surrendered to pain. He restores what was lost in ways we never imagined possible. And while we may not go back and rewrite history, He writes a new story—one soaked in mercy, hope, and healing. But He will not force it. We must surrender and let His refining fire continue its work.
And it’s important to remember this: God is not your enemy—He is your vindicator.
It is the enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy ~John 10:10~ But Jesus came to give life—and life more abundantly. If you’ve been stolen from, abused, lied to, overlooked, or attacked—it was never God. The enemy is a thief, but the Word promises this:
“Yet when he (the enemy) is found, he must restore sevenfold; he may have to give up all the substance of his house.” Proverbs 6:31 ~NKJV~
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.” ~Isaiah 54:17 NKJV~
Since that time, He has transformed my heart, taught me to renew my mind, and opened doors I could never have imagined. I now live a life of purpose, honored to share the gospel and to walk in the call we all carry in these final days.
If you are carrying the weight of regret or shame, I challenge you—lay it down.
Your brokenness is not the end of your story. Your wounds do not disqualify you. If you surrender, He will restore. But never against your will.
“There is no telling what God can do with a man or woman who is willing to be emptied of self, filled with the Holy Spirit, and completely yielded to His will.” ~Smith Wigglesworth~
“The Lord says, ‘I will give you back what you lost… Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the Lord your God… Never again will my people be disgraced.’” ~Joel 2:25–26 NLT~

This song beautifully captures the heart of a God who never stops waiting for us—even when we’ve lost our way.
If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, or if you’ve walked away, trying to do life your own way, it’s not too late. He’s calling you back. He’s been waiting.
Return to Him today. Surrender your plans, your pain, and your past. He’s ready to restore, renew, and realign you with your divine purpose.
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
