Hebrews 10:24–25 says: “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…”
Some events carry meaning not because of what’s happening on the screen, but because of what’s happening around the table.
For some, this weekend will be about a game. For others, it’s about the gathering, the food, the laughter, the familiar faces and the new ones. Potluck dishes that are shared. Conversations that that cover a wide variety of topics. The simple joy of being together, even when everyone is watching for different reasons.
And that longing is universal.
Whether people are tuning in for the sport, the commercials, or the tradition itself, what’s really being celebrated is connection, fellowship, and relationship formed around a shared moment. An activity becomes the backdrop, but everyone’s presence becomes the point.
Scripture reminds us that God often works this way. He meets people in ordinary settings: meals, walks, conversations, and shared time. Some of the most powerful moments of transformation happened not in churches or crowds, but around tables.
Intimacy grows in these spaces. Not forced, not formal, just shared.
As we move toward Sunday, let this be a reminder: God values togetherness. He designed us for relationship, with Him and with one another. And sometimes the holiest moments look like laughter in a living room, kindness in a kitchen, or hospitality extended without agenda.
Wherever this weekend finds you, whether alone or surrounded, may you notice the gift of presence, both His and theirs.
Sometimes God prepares us for what’s next simply by drawing us together first.
Pay attention to the connections God places around you.
Make today count and I’ll see you tomorrow.
