Obedience matters. Every choice we make carries weight, shaping the life we live and the legacy we leave. Today we’ll see how faith and trust in God made all the difference for someone who chose to follow Him fully.
“And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” (Matthew 15:22-28)
What remarkable faith. As a Gentile, she had no rightful claim to the promises given to Israel, yet her bold belief brought her to the very feet of Jesus. She didn’t demand a seat at the table, she simply trusted that there was enough mercy in a single crumb from His hand to heal her child. In that moment, her faith revealed that the reach of God’s grace extended far beyond the boundaries of His chosen people.
“Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.” (Matthew 15:28)
Faith that perseveres does not give up. It holds tight to the character of God, believing His mercy is greater than any delay. Scripture reminds us, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16).
When answers seem distant and the wait feels long, faith keeps knocking. It believes that His heart is kind, His timing is perfect, and His Word is true. “The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him (Lamentations 3:25).
Her story shows that perseverance in faith always finds mercy in the end.

Faithful obedience leaves a lasting legacy. The choices we make today echo into tomorrow, shaping who we are and how God’s story is told through us.
Tomorrow, we’ll meet another woman whose faith pressed through the crowd to touch the very hem of His garment—and everything changed.
If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
