~One Choice~

09.October.2025

It’s amazing how quickly everything can change with one small choice. One conversation. One question.

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” (Genesis 3:1)

It wasn’t just curiosity being stirred that day in the garden, it was Truth being challenged. And in that moment, a choice had to be made, trust what God said, or entertaining the possibility that maybe, just maybe, He was holding something back.

How often do we face that same evil whisper?

It doesn’t always sound like a snake in a garden. Sometimes it sounds like fear, or logic, or even our own reasoning. It comes softly, sliding into our thoughts, Did God really tell you to wait? Did He really promise to provide? Did He really mean what He said?

Every step toward obedience or disobedience starts there, in how we handle the voice of doubt.

Adam and Eve had walked with God in perfect communion. They knew His voice, His presence, His goodness. Yet one question made them question His heart…His goodness. And when trust slipped, obedience followed right behind it.

Disobedience is rarely loud or defiant at first. It’s often quiet and reasonable. It begins as a compromise so small we hardly notice it until something sacred is missing, our peace, our confidence, our intimacy with Him.

But here’s the good news, the story didn’t end in the garden. God came looking for them. He called out, “Where are you?” Not because He didn’t know where they were, but because He wanted them to know, He still cared. He still loved them.

Even when we fail, His voice still calls us back to obedience. Today, maybe you’re standing at a crossroads where obedience feels costly, or you’ve looked back and realized you’ve listened to another voice instead of His it’s even more costly. The same God who walked in the garden still walks toward you. He doesn’t come to condemn, He comes to restore. The power of one choice still stands, but so does the power of one “yes.”

Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of what God did say, and strengthen your heart to obey with trust and confidence.

Is there an area where the enemy whispered, Did God really say?

Today’s song to sit with is “Trust in You” by Lauren Daigle. There’s a line in this song that says, “When You don’t move the mountains I’m needing You to move.” It’s a beautiful expression of surrender, but remember this truth — it’s not that God won’t move; it’s that He cannot act outside His word. He has given authority to us through Jesus, and He will never override what He has already established. So as you listen, let it remind you to align your heart and words with His, knowing that His promises remain unshakable and His word still stands.

If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, or if you’ve walked away, trying to do life your own way it’s not too late. He’s calling you back. He’s been waiting.

Return to Him today. Surrender your plans, your pain, and your past. He’s ready to restore, renew, and realign you with your divine purpose.

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
