“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).
Peace is not the absence of trouble, it is the presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling inside us through it. When life’s storms come, the world may tell us to wait for circumstances to settle before finding peace, but Scripture calls us to walk in it now. The Holy Spirit brings a peace that transcends understanding, anchoring our hearts in God’s promises.
I’ll be honest, God is teaching me to walk this out, too. Peace doesn’t always “feel” automatic. It’s a daily choice to turn my thoughts toward Him, to trust His promises more than my emotions, and to anchor my heart in His Word. But every time I choose His peace, I find it was already mine all along.
Sometimes fear rises in response to challenges. I’m beginning to understand that fear isn’ta a feeling; Scripture identifies it as a spirit that can oppose faith. Faith trusts in the presence of the Spirit within us, while fear tries to pull us away from that trust. Walking in peace means choosing faith over fear, even when circumstances are uncertain.
Lord, thank You for the Holy Spirit who lives in me and brings peace in every situation. Help me recognize fear for what it is and stand firm in faith, trusting Your promises and resting in Your presence today.
