~ Promises vs. Miracles~

26.September.2025

Tonight, during a meeting, my pastor made a statement that stirred something deep in me. He said, “God does not want our lives to be lived on miracles, but on His promises.” That word has been echoing in my spirit from the moment, he said it, causing me to reflect on the difference between living miracle to miracle and living from the unshakable foundation of God’s promises. Walking in this reality requires faith, trust, and obedience. It’s often when we are not obedient that we find ourselves in places where sacrifice becomes necessary, as I shared in my post yesterday. I have to be honest, this isn’t just something I am teaching or writing about. God is teaching me, step by step, to trust His promises, to obey even when it doesn’t make sense, and to stand firm on His Word instead of waiting for a miracle to validate my faith.

Too often, we find ourselves waiting on the next miracle, the next breakthrough, the next healing. If we are honest, that kind of living keeps us in a survival mode. Miracles are beautiful; they are gifts from the Father, but they were never meant to be the foundation of our faith. The Word of God is. Jesus Himself said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away” (Matthew 24:35). His promises are eternal, unchanging, and already established.

God’s desire is not that we live to be healed, but that we live in the fullness of His promises. Not that we struggle until the next miracle comes, but that we stand firm on the Truth He has already spoken. Scripture says, “By His wounds you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24). Notice the tense, you have been healed. It is already finished. We are invited to live in that truth now.

When Jesus taught His disciples to pray, He said, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). There is no sickness in heaven, no lack, no fear, no defeat. And because of Jesus, we don’t have to wait for heaven to experience those promises, we are called to live them out here on the earth.

The question is, are we living as though His promises are true, or are we just waiting on the next miracle to prove them? His promises are already ours. Miracles are a blessing, but promises are the bedrock. Miracles sustain us for a moment, but His promises sustain us for a lifetime.

Lord, thank You for Your Word that never changes and never fails. Forgive me for the times I have lived chasing miracles instead of standing on Your promises. Teach me to live fully in the truth of what You have already spoken. Let my life be anchored in Your promises and not in my circumstances. As it is in heaven, so let it be in my life today.

If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, or if you’ve walked away, trying to do life your own way it’s not too late. He’s calling you back. He’s been waiting.

Return to Him today. Surrender your plans, your pain, and your past. He’s ready to restore, renew, and realign you with your divine purpose.

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
