Have you noticed how easy it is to hide behind certain phrases, the ones we use without even thinking?
- “God knows my heart.”
- “Nobody’s perfect.”
- “It’s just how I am.”
They sound spiritual, but let’s be honest, they’re often just excuses. Jude warned about this very thing: “I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” Jude 1:4 NLT
In other words, people twist grace into a permission slip.
Here’s the hard truth: yes, God knows your heart… and that’s not always the compliment you might think it is. He knows when your words don’t match your intentions, and when your intentions don’t match your actions. Grace isn’t a loophole. It’s an invitation to live whole, honest and sincere before Him.
When we use grace as cover for compromise, we miss its real power. It’s like having the keys to a car but refusing to drive anywhere, you’ve got access to freedom, but you’re stuck in the driveway.
True grace says, “God sees me completely, flaws and all, and still chooses to love me. Because of that love, I don’t have to keep living the same way.”
So the next time you’re tempted to throw out, “God knows my heart,” let it mean something deeper than an excuse. Let it be a prayer: “God, You see my heart, change it. Teach me. Shape me by Your Word.”
That’s not grace we twisted to fit us, that’s a grace that can transform should we choose to allow it.

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
