~Doing the Unthinkable, Expecting the Impossible~

22.August.2025

True surrender is not casual. It requires laying down the things once held dear, releasing attachments, and committing that nothing tangible will ever again take the throne of the heart.

When believers choose to give everything to God, they step into what may feel like the unthinkable. Yet in that very place of surrender, they are invited to expect the impossible. For God never asks without purpose. What He’s after is not loss, but trust. He desires to see if His children will release their grip on what He knows is lesser so He can place something greater into their hands.

The Scriptures affirm this refining process: “The Lord tests the righteous.” ~Psalm 11:5~ These moments are not temptations to sin, nor punishments for failure, but divine opportunities for the heart to be revealed. Sometimes God will ask something of His people, not because He desires to strip them down, but because He desires to raise them up.

Consider Abraham on Mount Moriah. God never intended for Isaac to be sacrificed, yet He asked for him:

“And He said, ‘…for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.’” ~Genesis 22:12 NKJV~

Why did God ask? To reveal that Abraham’s heart was not divided. Nothing, not even the long-awaited son of promise, was greater to him than obedience to the Lord. In that moment, Abraham proved he could be trusted, and God revealed Himself as Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. Abraham’s willingness to release what was most precious positioned him to receive what was far greater: a deeper revelation of God’s character and a reaffirmation of covenant promise.

This is the pattern of the Kingdom:

Surrender proves trust. (Proverbs 3:5–6 NKJV)

Trust invites increase. (Matthew 25:21 NKJV)

Obedience opens the way for God to entrust more. (Acts 5:32 NKJV)

God does not test to remove all or punish. He calls for surrender not to take, but to prepare. Every time His voice is heard and honored, it proves readiness for greater. And if the enemy has been involved, the promise of restoration stands sure: “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” ~Joel 2:25~ What was meant for destruction, God transforms into abundance, beyond what can be asked, thought, or imagined (Ephesians 3:20).

To do the unthinkable is to trust His hand above all else. To expect the impossible is to believe His character as Provider and Restorer. When He is on the throne in the heart, everything else finds its rightful place.

A powerful way to seal this truth is through worship. “Find You Here” by Ellie Holcomb was written after her father, music producer Brown Bannister, received a cancer diagnosis. In that painful and uncertain season, Ellie watched her parents lift up unwavering praise to God. The song was birthed out of surrender, acknowledging that even when the enemy attacks, God’s presence can be found. Today, her father is cancer-free, a living testimony that God both sustains and restores beyond expectation.

As this song reminds us, the very places that feel like impossibility are often where His presence shines the brightest. In surrender, He is near. In trust, He proves faithful. And in the unthinkable, He makes room for the impossible.

~ Surrender is never loss, it is the path to trust, increase, and the impossible provision of God. ~

If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, or if you’ve walked away, trying to do life your own way it’s not too late. He’s calling you back. He’s been waiting.

Return to Him today. Surrender your plans, your pain, and your past. He’s ready to restore, renew, and realign you with your divine purpose.

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
