Yesterday, we talked about what it looks like when the enemy launches a full-scale assault, how in Olympus Has Fallen, the unthinkable happens and the heart of the nation is under siege. But here’s the thing: in spiritual life, attacks don’t always come with smoke, fire, and explosions. Sometimes, the enemy slips in quietly, aiming for the gates of our mind, the watchtowers of our heart, and the seat of our spiritual authority.
The question is, when the walls are breached, what do we do?
David, in Psalm 62:6, wrote, “He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.” Notice that David’s confidence wasn’t in thicker walls or more soldiers, it was in the unshakable nature of God Himself. The walls could crumble, but the King inside the city was unshaken.
When you realize the enemy is inside the gates, maybe through discouragement, distraction, compromise, or fear, it’s not time to panic. It’s time to:
- Fill your mind with the Word, Let truth replace the lies. ~Romans 12:2~
- Plant the Word deep in your heart, Let it take root where the enemy can’t uproot it (Psalm 119:11).
- Release the Word from your mouth, Declare God’s promises with boldness, knowing that His Word does not return void. ~Isaiah 55:11~
And here’s the good news: as you do this, God Himself works in you, strengthening, enabling, and empowering you to stand firm and do what you could never accomplish in your own natural strength. ~Philippians 2:13~
The enemy’s strategy is to convince you that once he’s inside the walls, the battle is over. God’s truth says otherwise: “The LORD your God goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory” ~Deuteronomy 20:4~.
Your Kingdom is not defined by what the enemy takes; it is defined by Who is on the throne. And when the King reigns, the enemy is not only defeated, he must repay seven times what he stole ~Proverbs 6:31~.
Stand your ground. The King is still here.
