“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” ~ Revelation 3:20 NKJV ~
One of the most profound truths about God’s sovereignty is that He doesn’t use it to dominate—He uses it to invite.
God is not pushy. He doesn’t break down doors or barge into places where He’s unwelcome. Even though He’s all-powerful, He chooses gentleness. Even though He knows what’s best, He gives space for us to choose Him in return.
He knocks. He calls. He draws. But He won’t force His way in.
This says something powerful about the kind of relationship He desires. God isn’t looking for robotic obedience or fearful compliance—He wants love that chooses Him freely. That’s why His sovereignty often looks more like waiting than controlling.
You may be in a season where you feel God’s tug in a certain area—an invitation to deeper prayer, to leave something behind, to obey a difficult instruction, or to open a closed-off part of your heart. And maybe you’ve been waiting on Him to move, when He’s actually waiting on you to open the door.
The question isn’t: “Is God powerful enough to take over?”
The question is: “Will I invite Him in and surrender that area—completely?”
When we respond to His knock, He doesn’t scold us for the delay. He comes in and sits with us. He fellowships. He restores. He gently leads. But we have to open the door.
“So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.” ~Isaiah 30:18 NLT~
“Come close to God, and God will come close to you. ~James 4:8 NLT~
Where is God knocking in your life right now? What door have you left closed—maybe out of fear, control, or distraction?
Jesus, I hear You knocking. I don’t want to delay or resist You any longer. Come into every room of my heart—every place I’ve kept hidden or protected. I invite You in. You are Lord here.

“I will make room for You / To do whatever You want to…”
This song feels like a quiet yes whispered from the heart. It’s what God’s been waiting for, not perfection, just our permission. When we make space for Him, He gently steps in, not to take over, but to walk with us into the very best He has in mind.
If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, or if you’ve walked away, trying to do life your own way it’s not too late. He’s calling you back. He’s been waiting.
Return to Him today. Surrender your plans, your pain, and your past. He’s ready to restore, renew, and realign you with your divine purpose.
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
