~Responding to Favor with Honor~

20.July.2025

When God surrounds us with favor, our hearts should naturally respond, not just with gratitude, but with honor. Not the kind of honor the world gives with applause, but the kind that flows from a heart deeply aware of who He is and how He loves us.

The world claps when it’s impressed. We bow when we’re in awe. Honor, in the Kingdom, is not about performance, it’s personal. It’s the way our heart responds to love and attention, not out of duty, but out of delight (to please someone greatly).

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.” ~Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬~

Honor in the Word of God is not just a feeling, it’s a position we take, a posture. It looks like obedience when we’d rather do it our way. It looks like humility when we want to speak. It looks like generosity when we question if it’s really Him nudging us. It looks like worship with diligence when no one is watching.

“Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;” ~Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬~

We honor Him by putting Him first, not just in what we say, but in what we do. The way we manage our time, steward our resources (including finances), and treat people who are also created in His image. All of it reflects whether we truly honor Him.

And let’s remember: honor isn’t just lips that sing, but hearts that obey.

“These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” ~Isaiah 29:13 NLT~

So today, take a moment to check your posture. Are you clapping for God, or are you bowed before Him? Are you honoring Him only with your words, or with your whole life?

Here’s a thought I often come back to when I need realignment:

Applause doesn’t always mean approval. And admiration isn’t the same as adoration. Real honor comes from our hearts, it’s our posture, not our performance.

If you’re ready to lean into a lifestyle of honor, let this song guide your surrender into worship today:

“Day and night, night and day let incense arise…”

Let that become more than a song lyric, make it your life’s offering.

Father, thank You for surrounding me with favor. Let my heart respond with deep and lasting honor. Not just words, but obedience. Not just admiration, but adoration. You are worthy of it all. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, or if you’ve walked away, trying to do life your own way, it’s not too late. He’s calling you back. He’s been waiting.

Return to Him today. Surrender your plans, your pain, and your past. He’s ready to restore, renew, and realign you with your divine purpose.

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
