~7 Days – Coming Before the Lord 1/7~

Day 1: Come Through Jesus Christ

Before we talk about how we approach God, we start with Who makes it even possible: Jesus. He is not just a good teacher, a miracle worker, or an inspiring example—He is the door. The only door. And it’s through Him that we’re invited into the presence of a holy God without fear, shame, or hesitation.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”~John 14:6 (ESV)~

We don’t come to God because we’re good enough. We come because Jesus is. We don’t come based on our track record, our church attendance, or how strong our prayers sound. We come because Jesus lived a perfect life, died in our place, with the sins of the whole world (past, present and future) and rose again to reinstate our access to the Father. This is not simply old covenant/Old Testament access, but our direct access to Him and His throne room.

When we trust in Jesus, we’re not just “trying harder”—we’re stepping into relationship, adopted into the Father’s family. And because of His blood, we can come boldly, not timidly.

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.” ~Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬~

“There is only one way to all the treasures of God, and that is the way of the Cross, of Christ crucified. The way into the Holiest is through the torn veil—through His broken body.” ~Smith Wigglesworth~

Have you ever felt unworthy to come to God? Like you needed to “clean yourself up” first? That feeling is real, but it’s not truth. The truth is: Jesus already made the way. We don’t come to get clean; we come because He already washed us. Every time we draw near to the Father, we’re standing on what He did, not what we can do.

So today, breathe in that truth. You’re not far off. You don’t have to “find your way back.” Jesus is your way.

Jesus, Thank You for dying on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. Father, I ask You to forgive me. I believe that Jesus died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Today, let’s evaluate our lives: Are there any areas where we’ve been trying to “earn” our way to God? What would it look like today to come freely, as a beloved child?
