~Believing – Day 1: Choose~

20.June.2025

There’s a moment in the movie Hook that I was reminded about yesterday. Robin Williams, playing a grown-up Peter Pan, sits at a table with the Lost Boys. They’re laughing, feasting, shoveling food into their mouths. But to him, it’s all invisible. There’s nothing on the table. He’s hungry. Frustrated. Tired of pretending.

Until something shifts.…when he chooses to believe. (John 3:15-16 AMPC) Only believe.

And the moment he does, the table explodes with color, flavor, abundance. What he couldn’t see was always there. It just required faith.

“NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].” Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Faith isn’t a feeling. It’s not hype or pretending. It’s substance. It sees what your eyes don’t yet see, and holds onto it.

Sometimes we’re like Peter Pan, sitting at the table of promises, tired of the wait. We’ve prayed. We’ve hoped. But we don’t see anything changing. So what do we do?

We choose to believe. Anyway. Even when it’s hard.

Even when we feel empty.

Even when everything around us screams nothing’s happening.

Because the truth is, if we only believe when we see, it’s not faith. And God doesn’t move by what we see, He moves by what we believe.

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13

Part two tomorrow…but today, let this sink in:

Faith brings the feast. Faith makes the invisible real.

Faith says: I believe You, Lord…really.

If you have not committed your life to Jesus, or you have walked away from Him doing your own thing, I invite you to come back to Him today.

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
