Being in a foreign country and navigating unfamiliar public transportation has definitely reminded me how much I need to be led by Him. With only a short time in some places, I want to make the most of every moment. Patience is key, especially when those around me don’t always extend it. In all of it, I’m leaning into His guidance, trusting He’s ordering my steps. He will lead you in the smallest of decisions too but you must choose to include Him.
Before Jesus left the earth, He made a promise:
“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.” John 14:16 NKJV
That “Helper” is the Holy Spirit. In the original Greek, the word is Paraclete which means: Advocate, Defender, Helper, Strengthener, and Comforter. He’s not just near us; He abides in us. Forever.
But let’s take a step back to the verse just before this one. Jesus says:
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15 NKJV
This is where our part comes in. God always does His part, but He invites us to do ours. He’s not looking for performance, but love. Love obeys. Isn’t it beautiful that the One who holds the universe simply asks for our love and surrender in return?
How many people are searching for that kind of love? Real love. Eternal love. He gives it…and then gives us His Spirit to be in us and walk with us every step of the way.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” Psalm 32:8 NKJ
God’s guidance is like a GPS that never loses signal. But sometimes, when we veer off His path, we hear that spiritual “Recalculating…” Oh, how I never want to hear that voice again!
Let’s choose to stay on Plan A, His perfect plan. Let the Holy Spirit lead. Stay surrendered. Stay connected. His way is always best. Let’s walk by faith…
f you have not committed your life to Jesus, or you have walked away from Him doing your own thing, I invite you to come back to Him today.
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
