~Leaving the Old Behind~

03.June.2025

Stepping out of comfort is never easy, but it’s often where the journey of faith truly begins.

There comes a time when God calls us to leave behind what’s familiar, not because it’s bad, but because it’s no longer where we’re called to grow. Comfort zones can become cages when they keep us from the land of promise. Just like Abram, we must choose faith over familiarity.

“The Lord had said to Abram, ‘Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.’” Genesis 12:1 (NLT)

Abram didn’t receive the full map. He was given a word, not a destination. And still, he obeyed. That’s the essence of trust: going without knowing, simply because the One calling you is faithful.

“Destiny begins where familiarity ends.” ~ T.D. Jakes ~

This isn’t just about geography, it’s about mindset, heart posture, and spiritual growth. God is often asking us to leave behind not just old places, but old patterns, old fears, and old versions of ourselves. He’s calling us into the “new wine” season, where His fresh purpose flows, but only through surrender.

Take a moment today to worship and reflect with this powerful song:

A beautiful anthem of yielding to the refining process so God can pour out something new and powerful in your life.

Let today be the day you take that first step out of what’s known…and into the greater that God has prepared. If you have not committed your life to Jesus, or you have walked away from Him doing your own thing, I invite you to come back to Him today.

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
