In a world that often resists discipline, it’s easy to misinterpret God’s correction as rejection. However, Scripture paints a different picture, one of love, intimacy, and deep relationship.
Hebrews 12:6 (NLT) reminds us, “For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.” Wow! God’s discipline isn’t harsh or cruel; it’s evidence that we belong to Him. Just as a loving parent trains and guides their child, our Heavenly Father corrects us, not to condemn, but to shape us into His image.
Proverbs 3:11-12 (NLT) echoes this truth: “My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.” Correction is personal. It shows we are known, seen, and loved by Him too much to be left in our alone when we need to change.
As Derek Prince so powerfully said, “God’s correction is not rejection—it’s proof of sonship.”
There is tremendous protection when we allow Him to work in us, remodeling how we think, speak and act. This is done in us by the Holy Spirit in a spirit of excellence and our responsibility is to yield.
If you have not committed your life to Jesus, or you have walked away from Him doing your own thing, I invite you to come back to Him today.
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
