“Even when you forget Him, His love never forgets you.” ~ Leonard Sweet ~
There are seasons we have allowed our hearts drift, not out of rebellion but not keeping Him at the forefront of our thoughts each day. We love Him, but sometimes we find ourselves caught going through the motions, going through the spiritual checklists, showing up, saying the right things, but the fire…the fire isn’t there like it used to be.
Have you ever felt that ache in your soul? The kind that whispers, “Something’s missing…” You’re reading your Bible, you’re praying, but it feels quiet, almost hollow. The joy that once spilled over with ease now requires effort. You love Jesus, but the passion of your first love seems buried beneath the noise of life.
And then He whispers.
Not with condemnation, but with a love that gently awakens your memory:
“I miss you. I miss how you used to talk to Me about everything. I miss the way you sang to Me in the car, the way you’d get excited just to be with Me.”
Revelation 2:4 isn’t an angry rebuke, it’s the heart cry of a Bridegroom who hasn’t stopped loving His bride. Jesus isn’t standing at a distance with folded arms. He’s awaiting our return to Him, reminding us of the love story He began when He first found us broken and beautiful, and made us His.
Even when we forget Him, He has never forgotten us. Not for a moment.
Isaiah 43:1 is His promise. A love declaration that still holds true today:
“I have ransomed you. I have called you by name. You are Mine.”
He doesn’t say, You were Mine…or You used to be Mine when you were more faithful. No, He says, You are Mine.
Right now.
In your mess.
In your exhaustion.
In your wanderings.
You are still His.
The invitation today isn’t just to repent, it’s to return. Return to the joy of intimacy. Return to the quiet mornings where your heart would burn just hearing His voice. Return to the wonder. He hasn’t moved. His arms are still open. His eyes are still locked on you.
It’s not too late to fall in love all over again.
Let today be the day you lean in, not out of duty, but out of desire. Let the flame of first love be rekindled in your spirit. Let tears flow if needed. Let worship rise again, not just from your lips but from your heart.
Jesus is in love with you….still. Allow this to be your declaration:
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Forgive me for allowing the fire to grow dim. I don’t want just the form, I want complete intimacy with You again. Stir my heart. Draw me close. Help me fall in love with You all over again. Thank You that You’ve never stopped loving me, not for a second. I am Yours. I choose You again today..
I chose to run with Your Plan A for my life starting now. I am still Your beloved and Your love is always enough.
With all my heart,
