Fear can sneak in quietly, like a shadow at dusk, sometimes subtle, other times overwhelming. It can settle in our thoughts, shake our confidence, or whisper lies about who we are and what we’re capable of. Friend, a spirit of fear does not belong in the heart of someone who is deeply loved by God.
“Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.” ~ 1 John 4:18 NLT ~
God’s love in us, isn’t just gentle and kind, it’s powerful. So powerful, in fact, that His Spirit operating through us can fear out completely. It doesn’t merely comfort us in fear; we have the authority to cast fear away. That means when we feel afraid, it’s not because we’re weak or broken, it’s often because we’ve lost sight, even for a moment, of how fiercely and perfectly we are loved.
Fear tells us we’re alone. God’s Word says, “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
Fear says we’re not enough. God’s love says, “You are Mine.”
Fear says danger is near. God’s love says, “I am your fortress.”
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?” ~ Psalm 27:1 NLT ~
I love that verse because it doesn’t just ask “why should I be afraid?”—it’s a declaration: I won’t be afraid! Not because life is always easy or circumstances are perfect, but because God is perfect, His love operating in me and He’s with me.
Maybe today you’re feeling the weight of fear, fear of failure, fear of what’s next, fear of not measuring up. May I gently remind you? You are perfectly loved. Right here, right now. And where His love is present, fear has no place.
Let Him be your light when everything feels dim. Let Him be your strength when your heart is tired. Let His love wash over you and push out every trace of fear that’s been trying to take root.
You are safe in Him. You are held. You are seen.
“Fear cannot exist in the presence of God’s perfect love.” ~ Joyce Meyer ~
If you have not committed your life to Jesus, or you have walked away from Him doing your own thing, I invite you to come back to Him today.
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
